Ruby - July's Birthstone

The gleaming Ruby should adorn,
All those who in July are born,
For thus they'll be exempt and free
From lover's doubts and anxiety.

July's birthstone has many biblical, historical and royal symbolism behind the Ruby stone. The gemstone's name came from the Latin work "rubber" translating in English to Red. Rubies colour can range from a light red to even a deep violet. The ruby rates second hardest to the diamond on the Moh's Scale of Hardness.

This beautiful gemstone has many powerful attributes. Most often used in the Victorian Ages as a symbol of strength and vitality the ruby is also associated with devotion, integrity, courage, and happiness. In it's earlier years the stone was used for it's healing properties for blood related health problems and increasing positive thoughts.
